Activity Days at the Library

Stories, snacks, crafts & games

Kindergarten thru 5th grade.  Parents, call to pre-register at 462-1731

Blank Park Zoo will visit the Library on July 16 at 1:00 pm

This is a free program from the Blank Park Zoo.  Don't forget - pre-register by calling the Library at 462-1731.

Science Center of Iowa will visit the Library on July 26 at 1:00 pm

"What's Neat Beneath Our Feet?" program for all ages.  Make sure to pre-register by calling the Library at 462-1731.

Reading Game starts June 1, 2013 for all Ages!!

Kids!! Sign up at the Library starting June 1st to play the reading game.

Computer Basics, May 14-16, 8:15-9:45am

Call the Library & sign up for Computer Basics.  In these 3 sessions, you will learn how to get on the computer and use the mouse, set up your email address, send an email message, and browse the internet.  Call 462-1731 to reserve your seat!  This program is free and open to those who register.

 

 

Iowa Author Event, May 18, 2:00 - 3:00

The Library is excited to present Iowa author Bob W. Dunbar, on Saturday, May 18, from 2-3:00. Dunbar will speak about his work and his life as a writer.  He is the author of historical fiction books, including "The Holy Sabbath Morning: a novel of the Alamo" and "To Fame's Proud Cliff," about that larger-than-life character Sam Houston.   Put it on your calendar!

Resource of the Week: Small Engine Repair

Ebsco Small Engine Repair is a full-text database that gives you repair instructions for your lawnmower, washer and dryer, ATV, snowmobile, tractor engines, and much more.  It is available to you for free from the library computers and also through your own internet connection.  Just go to the Library web-site, www.winterset.lib.ia.us, click on RESEARCH at the top, select EbscoHost on the left side, select EbscoHost via your Library card, login with your Library card number, select Small Engine Repair Reference Center from the list of Ebsco databases, and you can begin your project.  Happy repairs!

 


Ongoing Programs

Toddler Tuesday - every Tuesday at 10:30 for ages 0-2.

Story Time - every Wednesday & Thursday at 10:30 for preschoolers ages 3 and up.

Reading to Rover - every 4th Saturday from 10-noon.  Call the Library for your appointment.

Teens with Tonja - every 1st Saturday from 2:30-4:00.  Call the Library to sign up.
