Lana Jackson of Gnome Range Farms has been raising rabbits since 2011.  Born and raised as a "city girl", she has had a lot to learn.  Through trial and error, along with much scientific research, Lana has raised approximately 200 pounds of rabbit meat annually.  This informative program will include her method of care as well as the dispatching and processing of meat.

Rather than using traditional hutches, during the warm months of the year, Lana utilizes a technique of pasture grazing.  Not only does this reduce feed costs dramatically, but it provides a healthy, safe environment for the rabbits.

Lana will be presenting some of the information gleaned through her research, personal experiences, and plain, old mistakes.  There will also be an opportunity to sample one of Lana's own rabbit meat recipes.  This will be a great opportunity to gather resources, information, and to ask questions as you decide if raising rabbits for meat is for you.
