What's It Worth? Antique Appraisal Event with Mark Moran, Friday, August 24, 5:00-8:00 pm - Registration Full


Mark Moran antiques appraisal

Winterset Public Library will present an antiques and collectibles appraisal event featuring author and antiques expert Mark Moran on August 24 from 5:00-8:00 pm.

Formerly senior editor of Antiques and Collectibles Books for Krause Publications in Iola, Wis., he has also been a contributing editor for Antique Trader magazine.  He is the author or co-author of more than 25 books on antiques and collectibles.  For over 30 years Moran has bought and sold antiques, specializing in vintage folk art, Americana, and fine art.  He has also been active as an appraiser of antiques and fine art for over 20 years.  Moran has appeared as a guest expert on the PBS series Antiques Roadshow. 

Moran is available to make home visits for people with large items, or fragile things (or alot of things).  Home visits are $75 an hour and there is no mileage charge if within 10 miles of the appraisal event site.  To arrange, call 715-281-5060 or email him at moranm1953@gmail.com.

The registration is full - but you can still come and watch Mark appraise all of the unique and interesting items.  Don't miss the fun!  Come early to get a seat.


Items accepted for appraisal include: Fine Art, Furniture, Ceramics, Glassware, Vintage Photographs, Advertising, Folk Art, Toys, Metalware, Clocks, Costume Jewelry, Musical Instruments, Books, Sports Memorabilia, and Antique and Vintage Lighting of all Kinds.

Items NOT accepted are: All Weapons (including swords and knives), Traps, Nazi Memorabilia, Coins and Paper Money, Fine Jewelry, Gemstones, and Beanie Babies.

Opinions of value are informal, and may not be used for insurance or charitable donations, which require a certified appraisal.
