Genetic Genealogy Workshop - Saturday, August 11, 8:30am - 4:00pm

Genetic genealogy is the fastest growing area of genealogy research with the number of people submitting DNA tests doubling every year.  This workshop offers four presentations that will help you understand the various results of DNA testing and how they will help you expand your family history.

The workshop will be led by Glenn York.  Glenn is a Winterset High School alumnus and Colorado genealogist who will provide practical information that you can use to make educated decisions with your DNA test results. Although very experienced, Glenn presents in a manner that is easy to understand, no matter where you are in your genetic genealogy journey.

After careers in the Air Force and the electronics/computer field, Glenn’s current focus is on genetic genealogy. He took his first DNA test in 2005. He now manages DNA tests with all major testing companies for over 30 different family members. He is a regular attendee at Roots Tech 2016, 2017, 2018. He completed DNA courses at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy in both 2017 and 2018. Glenn facilitates the monthly DNA study group for the Larimer County Genealogical Society and the Longmont Genealogical Society.

The fee is $40 for the entire day. Lunch is on your own.  Please, register at SignUpGenius or call the Library.  Confirm your space by mailing a check (payable to MCGS) to: Winterset Public Library, 123 N 2nd St, Winterset IA 50273.
